The last commentor had it right. I’m definitely portraying the white picket fence suburbia. I haven’t done this conciously, it’s just happened. I think I have romantic notions about what a house and home is. The reality is often quite different of course.

I have this photo on 120 film and on polaroid. For some reason I’ve always liked the film version better and for some reason today I decided I like the polaroid version better.

WOW. Just had to post this website. Oniram. This has to be one of the coolest websites with the coolest photography (I’m guessing). Amazing. It’s in French so if you can’t read French you will have to feel your way around but I think it really adds to the experience.

More of my suburbia work. Odd how you can take one roll of film and already have a name for that body of work.

This is a photo of Monica - my niece. It’s her birthday today. This was taken a couple of years ago now before she and her family moved to Canada. I like the captured moment of this photo and always have but I’ve never felt it quite good enough to put in my portfolio.

This is a house very near where I live. This photo gets the credit for being the first to be inspired by this blog. I went wandering one night last week and took a roll of photos. This one is my favorite.

Here’s what I will be doing this Waitangi Day.

I really like caravans. I’m not even sure why, since the only time I have stayed in one is with my aunt and uncle one Christmas. Perhaps there is something very free and independent about a caravan. The ability to set up camp in an idyllic spot and have nothing to stress about.

I took this shot over a year ago but was looking through my files and plucked it out for scanning. It is of a bach at Pukihina — one great strip of beach near Tauranga.

Well, after that, err, interesting comment from my last post I thought today’s image should be something very kiwi. And what could be more kiwi than the beach.
